Prior to becoming the Wildrose candidate for Calgary-Acadia, Linda Carlson was the Alberta Regional Organizer for the Conservative Party of Canada where she worked with riding associations across the province.
After completing her Master's degree at the University of Alberta in 2003, Linda worked for a non-profit human rights organization and then as a Consultant and Policy Analyst for the federal government. In her five years at Health Canada Linda gained valuable knowledge about health care spending and delivery in Alberta, and of the challenges facing our public health care system.
Her previous board experience includes being a director on both federal Conservative and Wildrose constituency associations, and also on the Peanut Butter Classic Society. Linda's involvement with organizations like the Calgary Food Bank and the YMCA has strengthened her belief in the importance of a flourishing voluntary sector.
Linda has been an Albertan her whole life but she has spent time abroad and seen first hand the perils of big deficits and tax increases. Linda believes that government must be accountable to taxpayers and that the Wildrose will restore fiscal responsibility to Alberta voters.
