Brian Malkinson is a salesman at a heavy duty engine supplier. During the recession Brian, like many Canadians, needed to make a career change and moved into the heavy equipment industry after working as a designer/analyst for internet start-ups. This experience has given Brian an understanding of the challenges that workers and businesses face in trying economic times.

Brian has a Science degree from Simon Fraser University in BC. In 2012, Brian ran for the Provincial NDP in Calgary North West, maintaining NDP support in that riding, and again in 2014 in Calgary West. At the federal level, Brian actively supported Jack Layton’s 2006 BC campaign as vice president of the Fleetwood–Port Kells riding association and was official agent for the candidate Barry Bell. He has learned that priorities have to be set based on the realities faced by voters like you.

Brian’s family has deep roots in Calgary. He is the third generation to live in Calgary, and has a close relationship with his grandparents, who have been residents in Northwest Calgary for over 50 years.
