Ali Waissi and his wife Kani are proud parents of a year old girl, Bahrahn. They are happily residing in Calgary-South-East.

After completing high school in Moose Jaw, Ali went on to Justice Studies at the University of Regina. In 2008 he moved to Calgary, where he earned a Bachelor degree in Political Science with minor in Law and Society from the University of Calgary.

Ali has a diverse work background; he worked in immigration settlement assistance with the Moose Jaw Multicultural Council, with computer operations in the home-building industry, and with Start Smart Stay Safe at the Child Well-Being Centre of Mount Royal University.

He is a proud resident of Calgary and continues to be an active community advocate and volunteer. He has volunteered with dozen of non-profit charitable organization to bring a positive change in the community, including the Mustard Seed of Calgary since 2014 as Employment Advisor and Shelter Supporter. Ali is currently serving as a Board of Director with Open Arms Patient Advocacy Society. Ali has a strong passion to build a better, more inclusive community for all.

This dedication to his community is why Ali has decided to run for public office to serve Calgary-East. He believes Calgary-East is in need of a strong and honest leader who is committed to serving the people of eastern Calgary. Ali is excited to continue to invest in the future of your community, and work hard on your behalf to secure lasting and meaningful improvements to the health care, infrastructure, education, and other services that help to make Calgary-East -- and all of Alberta -- a better place to live and raise a family.

Ali's believes that government must be accountable, responsible, and transparent at every level, and is committed to putting everyday Albertans first. Unfortunately, we have had to endure a generation of politicians from one party that has become out of touch with the people, and only interested in political advancement and personal enrichment. This must stop NOW. It is time to get Alberta back in the black, instead of burdening our children and grandchildren with billions of dollars in debt and higher taxes.

Ali is asking for your support and trust. Please stand with him for change -- a positive change! -- and a fresh voice for our community.
