My name is Megan Brown and I am a fourth generation Albertan, born and raised in Calgary.
I grew up surrounded by a large extended family, the daughter of a railway worker and a special needs assistant. Within this environment I learned strong family values and the importance of hard work.
During high school I forged my sense of community spirit, as a dedicated volunteer. Upon graduation, I won my high school’s Premier's Citizenship Award, allocated to one student in recognition of their leadership, citizenship, community service activities and volunteer work. At the University of Calgary, I studied political science, focusing on electoral and Alberta politics, as well as economics.
While at University, I was an avid debater, and active participant in a number of political organizations on campus. After completing my post-secondary education, I began working in federal politics as a Director of Research and Strategy.
I am motivated to see this province find fiscal balance, and eager to advocate for current and future generations of Albertans. Working towards building a province that is more prosperous, and accountable to the people of Alberta is among my highest priorities.
