Sandy Kevin Aberdeen

Sandy has a background in Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement. Since finishing the Environmental Management Program at the U of C many years ago his passion has become learning about, and becoming active with, environmental issues.

Climate Change as it relates to food security is one of his major interests. He and his son Brendon started one of Calgary’s first Urban Farms. He is a L.E.A.D. Fellow (Leadership for the Environment and Development). Sandy volunteers for Green Calgary, and the Citizen’s Climate Lobby and is a presenter for the Climate Reality Project.

Sandy has lived in Calgary for over thirty years. He and his wife have grown children and five grand children.

Sandy’s policy issues include: putting a fee and dividend price on carbon; moving Alberta towards a more diverse economy which incorporates renewable energy; adopting proportional representation and developing a sustainable local foodshed.
