Jamie is passionate about Calgary Northern Hills' need for a new high school, something that has been requested by the community for more than a decade. Accordingly he supports the NDP’s Infrastructure Sunshine List, which is designed to take the political game-playing out of infrastructure decisions like school construction.
Jamie Kleinsteuber moved to Calgary Northern Hills from Cochrane, Alberta. In Cochrane, he advocated for pedestrian path networks, improved public transportation, better forestry practices, water conservation, and improvements to tourism infrastructure.
He was an active contributor to the community of Cochrane, sitting on a watershed board, a condominium board. He was also a founding member and vice president of a community association. He is ready to accept the challenges of representing the urban district of Calgary Northern Hills.
He is a graduate from the University of Ottawa with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Public Policy and Management and Canadian History.
Jamie has been an airline employee for 17 years, and has strong interest in transportation networks and tourism. At the airport, he has also volunteered with the Dreams Take Flight committee, a group that provide trips of a lifetime for physically, mentally, or socially challenged children. He has also previously worked as a ski instructor in Austria.
