(The following text was provided by the candidate or campaign.)

I was elected as MLA for Calgary-South East on April 23, 2012. In the Legislature, I have served as Legislative Secretary, Ambulance Services, Associate Minister of Public Safety and as the Associate Minister of Recovery and Reconstruction for High River.

Prior to becoming an MLA, I served the public for 12 years working for the ambulance service as an advanced-care paramedic. I was a leader in my profession, operating as a crew chief and teaching advanced cardiac life support to EMS staff, physicians, nurses and students. I served as President of Calgary Paramedics and as an advisor to the Alberta College of Paramedics.

Why I’m running

I am a born and raised Calgarian, with a family history that dates back one hundred years in this province. I reside in South-East Calgary with my wife and two children and like many families my age we also have aging parents. The decisions that this government makes directly impact my family as well as yours.

Since being elected in 2012, I have advocated relentlessly for this constituency and the issues that are important to you. Eleven elementary and middle schools and two high schools have been announced in our community since I was elected. No other constituency in Alberta has received the number of schools we have received.

As your representative in the Legislature, I see tremendous opportunity to be a voice ensuring sustainability and stability for our province. I am honest, transparent and accessible and it would be my honour to continue being your voice.
