Terry Wong is married and a father of 3 adult daughters. He has lived in Alberta for 35 years after moving from Vancouver where he was born. Currently, he owns and operates a management consulting company providing strategic planning, issues management, and project management services. Earlier this year, his company partnered with another firm to develop a business internet service that will be launched in the fall 2015.
Terry retired in 2014 after a 35 year management career with The City of Calgary, the former Calgary General Hospital, the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, and B.C. lower mainland hospitals where he applied his industrial engineering, information systems, and management skills.
In 2013, Terry ran for Calgary City Council as a Councilor for Ward 2 in Calgary’s northwest. He came in a virtual 3-way tie for second place. He has also served on his local community association board as Vice President Area Planning and Director-at-Large.
A fiscally conservative with a social heart values, Terry established his values through a disciplined asian childhood and entrepreneurial background where trust, integrity and hard work were essentials to family, community and personal success. With respect to public service, Terry has worked to the following principle, “If there are three things to remember its to 1) protect the public purse; 2) protect the public trust; and 3) to remember that its for the taxpayers…not this organization, the administration, or the politicians."
