Biography

(The following text was provided by the candidate or campaign.)

Len Webber is a past MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) in Alberta serving 11 years in the constituency of Calgary-Foothills, initially as a Progressive Conservative and in his last six months in office as an Independent member. He resigned his seat to focus his attention on Federal politics and pursue the new federal riding of Calgary Confederation.

Len served as Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Minister of International and Intergovernmental Relations during his provincial political career, along with serving on numerous boards and committees.

Before becoming an MLA, Len was the vice-president and director of Webber Academy, a #1 ranked nonprofit university preparatory private school in Calgary. The academy provides advanced and challenging curriculum to about 1000 students from junior kindergarten to Grade 12.

Len was born in Calgary, raised in the northwest community of Brentwood, and is the son of former Calgary MLA and cabinet minister Dr. Neil Webber. He received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary and his journeyman electrician certificate from SAIT.

Len and his late wife, Heather, have three daughters: Lauren, Jaime and Kelly.
