Laurie Scheer is a husband, father, and self-employed professional engineer. He was born and raised in Calgary and attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and the University of Calgary. He has worked on conventional and directional drilling rigs, performed legal land surveys and plan preparation for wellsites and pipelines, designed and laid out land development projects, and provided railroad clearance designs, plans, and project management for a double-stacked container project through all 36 tunnels between Calgary and Vancouver. He is an active supporter of local, community-based music and arts, and enjoys fishing and walking his dog.

A believer in lifelong education, Laurie was motivated to become involved in politics after seeing how far we have drifted from the ideas and principles that once made Canada one of the most admired countries in the world. In contrast, Laurie found the Green Party’s policies offered the best direction for hope for the future for Canada.

Laurie believes this is the golden opportunity for Canadians to realize their dreams and desires of a high quality of life for themselves, their children, and their grandchildren.
