Ed Reddy has been a resident of Alberta since 1996, having moved to Calgary from the Atlantic provinces where he spent ten years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a regular and reservist member. During his military service, he completed two special service tours of duty; serving with the United Nations in 1988 in a peacekeeping effort in Iraq, and in Doha Qatar in 1991.
Ed retired as a Reservist in 1997 and attended SAIT, where he completed a diploma in Computer Technology in 2001. Over the last decade Ed has worked for several local and international organizations in Calgary, including five years working for the National Energy Board (NEB) as a Group Lead for the Client Services department. In 2008, Ed completed his MBA at Royal Roads University, and left the NEB to work in the oil and gas industry. Since 2011, Ed has been self-employed, mainly working as a management consultant for Cenovus Energy Inc.
Ed’s interest in politics started during the 2011 Federal election, when he served as the social media coordinator for Green Party candidate Heather McIntosh’s campaign. During the 2012 federal by‐election in Calgary Centre, Ed served on Chris Turner’s campaign team, supporting and managing social media.
Ed, his wife Heather, and three children, Amanda, Liam, and Logan call Calgary home. During his spare time, Ed volunteers with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada as an amateur astronomer, is a Cub Leader with Scouts Canada, and is currently Chairperson for SAIT’s Information Technology Software Advisory committee.
